By plane: Corfu International Airport, just 2 km from the city, receives daily flights from Athens and weekly arrivals from other nearby islands. There are also international flights available from many other European cities, although the majority of them operate only during the summer season. The airport is connected with the town of Corfu by a public bus and a taxi service.
By bus: The private bus transport company Corfu KTEL provides a daily connection between Corfu and Athens, Patra, Thessaloniki and many other cities. The excellent transport connections allow you to combine day trips to a number of cities with your yacht charter in Corfu.
By boat: The main ports in Corfu are Neo Limani and Paleo Lima. The Neo Limani port has a ferry service from Venice, Ancona, Bari, Brindisi in Italy; Himara and Saranda in Albania and Igoumenitsa and Patras. The Paleo Lima port offers service to the island of Vidos.
By car: Driving from Athens, take the Athens-Patra national motorway heading to Patra. Situated on the coast of the Ionian Sea, Corfu enjoys a hot, dry summer like so much of the Mediterranean. The high summer season takes place between June and September, with the hottest months being July and August. During this peiod, average temperatures vary from 23ºC and 25ºC, at times temperatures will reach well into the 30s. The busiest months for yacht charter and regular holidays in Corfu is July to September however holidaymakers will be seen as early as April and as late as October.
The main sailing season sees average temperatures of 24ºC with peaks of up to 35ºC in the hottest month of July with the mid-season either side having average temperatures of 17ºC and peaks of 25ºC. Temperatures will drop as low as 5ºC during the winter.

In summer the prevailing wind is the strong northerly Meltemi. This can be very powerful, especially in July and August, and last for some days so be sure to check forecasts regularly.
