Found on Greece's westerly Ionian Sea, Lefkas enjoys a wonderfully warm Mediterranean climate. The high season of June through September gets average daily temperatures between 22ºC and 25ºC with the numbers regularly going over 30ºC in July and August.

The airport receives daily flights from Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete, as well as many daily charter flights daily from various European destinations during the summer season.

By bus

There are daily buses which arrive at Lefkas bus station from Athens, and the trip takes about 5 hours. There are also connections with Thessaloniki twice a week (7 hour trip), Patra (3 hours), Igoumenitsa (2 hours), and nearby Preveza (about 30 minutes).

By boat

From Nydri and Vasiliki, the major ports of Lefkas, a daily ferry service departs for the Ionian Islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca, and to the smaller nearby islands of Scorpios, Sparti, Meganisi, Madouri, Prigiponisia, and Skorpidi.

By car

Lefkas is the only island accessible by car without transporting it on a ferry. The causeway and mobile bridge connect Lefkas to the mainland, and traffic flows can easily get across.
