By plane

Tenerife has two airports. On the north of the island is Los Rodeos, and in the south is Reina Sofia. The Reina Sofia Airport is the busier of the two, with a large number of airline companies operating from there. Regular buses run from both airports to other cities, however you may need to change routes.

By bus

Although Tenerife cannot be reached by bus, the TITSA bus lines connect most towns and villages on the island, and run frequently. These buses, known as the guaguas, are a very economical way of getting around the island.

By train

Tenerife is not serviced by rail lines but instead has two local tram lines, also known as the Light Rail System. These trams connect the island's most significant attractions, and enable you to combine your yacht charter in Tenerife with a trip to the island's tourist spots. There is currently a project underway that will connect Santa Cruz in the north with Las Américas in the southeast of the island.

By boat

The main ports of Tenerife are Santa Cruz, which is linked to the capitals of other islands of the archipelago, and Los Cristianos, which while not as old as Santa Cruz, receives greater daily flow of boats. Trasmediterranea offers a weekly ferry from Cadiz, and the journey to Tenerife takes two days. There are also frequent ferries to the other Canary Islands, Gran Canaria and La Gomera.

By car
